About the Project

Metod is a news aggregator designed to serve the Ukrainian news market. It aggregates news from various sources, including newspapers, national and international media outlets, and social media platforms. With Metod, users can easily access both local and foreign news in one convenient platform. The app also offers custom analytics reports and a weekly summary feature, allowing users to track key trends in the Ukrainian news market.

Challenges

When developing Metod, our team faced several challenges related to navigating the Ukrainian news market. Our team partnered with the in-house team of our client. While the team was responsible for the backend part of the product, our engineers did everything else required to launch the app. We also faced challenges related to designing an intuitive user interface that would be easy for users to navigate. Additionally, integrating features like social media mentions and push notifications into our platform posed a unique challenge due to their complexity.

Results

Now users can access comprehensive coverage of all the latest happenings in Ukraine and get a customized news experience by selecting specific topics of interest or filtering results with keywords within just one app. Additionally, we were able to incorporate features like custom analytics reports, week summary notifications, and push notifications into our app with great success.

01User Profile

Metod offers users the ability to sign up and create a profile with ease. The user profile allows them to personalize which news topics they would like to receive information on, as well as enabling the user to save articles for later reference or sharing with friends. Through this customizable feature, users can ensure they always stay up-to-date with their chosen topics.

02News Categories

Metod provides a comprehensive list of news categories, enabling users to easily find what they are looking for. Categories range from national politics and economy, breaking news, media and entertainment, sports, lifestyle, and even technology - allowing users to focus on what interests them without having to search through an overwhelming amount of content.

03Advanced Search

Metod's advanced search engine allows users to find the latest content related to their desired query quickly. The search tool can be used by keyword or natural language input and can recognize synonyms and spelling mistakes so that any inquiry can be accurately answered.

04Custom News Reports

With Metod's custom analytics reports feature, users are able to track how their target audience interacts with certain news stories over time. This invaluable resource gives valuable insights into engagement levels by providing detailed data such as views per story or keyword popularity in different regions, amongst other useful metrics.

05Week in Review

At the end of each week, Metod sends its users a summary containing all the top news stories of the past seven days based on their selected preferences. This ensures that each user keeps up-to-date with all relevant events without wasting valuable time reading every single article on the platform.

06Social Media

The app also tracks mentions of certain topics on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook so that users can see what people say about different issues worldwide at any given moment.

07Push Notifications

With push notifications enabled on their device, Metod users can receive real-time updates about new stories related to topics or sources they have subscribed to without having to open the app every time new content is available manually.
