About the Project

Developed by a team of experts in healthcare and software development, Medlog offers a fast and direct communication platform that is integrated with medical records and patient-related information. With its automated features, clinicians can conveniently stay connected with their peers and have access to the latest information on their patients.

Through improved access to data, healthcare professionals can make better-informed decisions while increasing their efficiency. With Medlog, nurses, doctors, and other clinical caregivers have the tools they need to provide superior care to their patients in a fraction of the time.

Challenges

Fast and direct communication. Medlog faced the challenge of creating a platform that could provide fast and direct communication while being secure and compliant with healthcare regulations.
Automation and integration with medical records. Medlog was also tasked with integrating its communications platform with medical record systems to ensure physicians had access to accurate patient data in real-time.
Share of information. One of the biggest challenges was creating a unified platform for nurses, physicians and other care teams to share patient information securely, quickly, and accurately.
Outdated technologies. Healthcare professionals were stuck using outdated technologies, which hindered their ability to coordinate patient care effectively, so Medlog had to move swiftly in order to meet this need.

Results

The development process isn’t over, Our team is still working on a HIPAA-complaint messaging app for nurses and physicians and helping the client achieve desired outcomes. Medlog’s key objective is to transform physician-nurse communication by standardizing patient-center messaging and storing message summaries in the medical record.

Key Features

01Authorization

The app has a secure authorization system with two-factor authentication to ensure that only authorized users are able to access the account. It offers two options for authorization: an SMS sent to the phone number and biometric authentication using Touch ID or Face ID. This ensures that only legitimate users can access the application, providing extra security and peace of mind. Additionally, biometric authentication provides an easy way to authorize sensitive operations within the app.

02Messages

The messaging feature of Medlog allows nurses and providers to quickly send text messages, documents, images, files of any size, and SmartTexts to each other. Nurses can create SmartTexts—a specific form that provides detailed information about a patient's condition for the provider—which can be customized or saved for later use. The app also allows users to log the amount of time spent communicating with nurses and providing medical services.

03Provider Notes

The Provider Notes feature of MedLog offers providers a comprehensive view of their patient visits. With this feature, providers can easily see the list of all finished visits, open any visit as a PDF, search for specific visits, and filter visits based on their criteria. All these features are accessible only on iOS and Android mobile devices. Providers have the ability to add provider notes to any patient visit. This allows them to store important information about the visit that is easy to access at any time. The notes include text as well as images, allowing providers to customize their notes with valuable visual information that helps provide an even better understanding of the patient's progress over time. Additionally, provider notes are securely stored in MedLog’s cloud storage system so they can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.

04Visits (only for iPad)

The visits feature allows healthcare providers to quickly and easily create detailed records for their patient interactions. By leveraging the intuitive iPad interface, health practitioners can quickly and accurately capture important information from each visit, including patient information, diagnosis and treatment plans, vital signs, medications, lab results, and more. Additionally, MedLog's integrated document storage system enables healthcare providers to upload relevant documents – such as medical images or treatment plans – directly into the patient’s record for easy retrieval. For added convenience and accuracy, users can even search visits by keyword or filter them based on criteria such as date or duration.

05Contacts

MedLog allows users to quickly and easily access a comprehensive list of all providers and nurses associated with their medical facility. Users can search through the contacts to find specific individuals or filter the results based on customizable criteria. Additionally, users have the ability to call any contact via their mobile phone number or text them directly within the app. The intuitive interface makes it easy for users to connect with essential healthcare personnel in just a few clicks.

06Profiles

The Profile feature gives users the ability to customize their experience. Users can edit their personal information, such as name and contact information, change the facility they are associated with, set up security functionality such as PINs, Face ID, or Touch ID, and customize notifications and sounds. Additionally, users can easily access MedLog's Support team if they have any questions or issues. Finally, users are able to read through the legal policies in order to stay up-to-date on any changes in usage terms.

07Admin Panel

The Admin Panel of the MedLog app provides users with an intuitive and powerful way to manage all aspects of their medical practice. It enables users to manage users, facilities, problems, and visits quickly and accurately. The admin panel features a user-friendly interface that allows admins to easily add and delete users, assign roles and permissions, view patient records, set up facility options, create problem lists, and monitor visit history. Additionally, they can access detailed reports on patient data, enabling them to assess patterns or trends in patient health. Admins can also use the advanced search functions to quickly identify patients who need follow-up care or who may require specific treatments. Finally, the Admin Panel also offers customizable dashboard widgets for monitoring key performance indicators for each user type in real time.

08Web Constructor (for admin panel)

The MedLog app features a Web Constructor, which allows admins to manage templates for the MedLog app quickly and efficiently; they can customize existing templates or create new ones from scratch.
